Giving a toast at a wedding is a nerve-wracking thing.  There are so many things to think about while writing a speech for the happy couple, and no one wants to be remembered for giving a bad toast!  Here are some tips, we at Bluebird Productions, think will help you have a problem free, and memorable speech at the wedding.

- Your toast should be a good mixture of humor and affection for the couple.  Sit down and get a clear outline, on paper or in your head, of what you want to say.

- Keep it short and sweet, and pick a topic everyone will understand and enjoy listening to.  Stay away from inside jokes or stories that will embarrass the bride or groom too severely, or that only a few people will understand and find funny.

- Try not to drink too much before you give your toast, we know its easy to go the liquid courage route when your nervous.  You worked hard on your toast and it would be unfortunate if the delivery is impaired in any way.

- Finish your toast on a strong, genuine note.  The toast should be a positive and personal congratulations to the happy couple.
