In Support of US Veteran’s everywhere, November 11th, 2012
Veteran’s Day honors all members of the Armed Forces who served our great Nation, The United State of America. Soldiers selflessly leave their friends, family, and loved ones behind to fight, and protect us, to keep our country safe, and to preserve our way of life in America. Veterans gave their time, and risked their lives for you and me. No matter what political party you support, what religion you follow, or which culture you were brought up in, as an American citizen, Veteran’s Day is not only a day to be recognized, but a day to be thankful, and do what you can to help out!
In Support of US Veteran’s everywhere, November 11th, 2012 U.S. military, national and regional restaurant chains and quick-service establishments around the country are offering freebies, discounts, and specials for Veteran’s Day this Friday, Nov. 11. Some of these restaurants include Little Caesars, Subway, Outback Steakhouse, Applebee’s, Chili’s, and TGI Friday’s to name a few.
What you can do to help:
Help a homeless vet: Research a charity in your area to help a homeless, or take some time to give out food, and supplies at a shelter.
Do something unexpected: Offer to rake the leaves on their lawn, or bring them dinner (or dessert).
Give an Hour: If you are a psychological health professional, donate an hour of your time to help service members and their families cope with the issues they’re experiencing as a result of the current conflicts the US is having abroad.
Donate: Donations to Veteran charities. These organizations can provide advocacy, emergency assistance, grants, counseling, and other types of direct and indirect support. Go to Charity Navigator to find the best charity for your donation.
Whether it is something little, or something large, there is always a meaningful way you can show your gratitude, and support of veterans in your community!
To all the US Veteran’s Out There… Thank you!
