Thoughts and Advice From An Aspen Bride BY: Alison Berkley, The Aspen Times, Princess Palate Editor 1. Why would you recommend a planner to Bride’s to be? There are a million and one details that you would never even think about, and by the time you did, you’d be so overwhelmed it would be impossible to make a decision. A planner takes care of all the details and keeps you organized so you can enjoy the bliss and excitement of your engagement. The amount of stress it takes out of the equation is worth every penny. 2. Has a planner changed …

Marshmallow Madness!

Throwing a marshmallow on a stick and sandwiching it between graham crackers and some delicious chocolate makes the mixture even better. S’mores take you back to campfires at camp surrounded by your closest friends. So, as you grow up, why not bring back the s’more and make “s’more” of those memories. Here is a cute DIY S’mores kit to give your guests in a welcome bag: Why not have a s’mores station at your next party?? Have you tried the amazing marshmallows by 240Sweet? This …

Alison Berkley: The Princess’ Palate Alison Berkley The Aspen Times Aspen, CO, Colorado “So, are you totally freaking out?” people ask. “How are you holding up?”Everyone acts as if planning a wedding is this horrible thing I have to get through, like a Brazilian bikini wax or a tattoo or Chinese water torture. I’m sitting there going, should I be freaking out? Is there something I’m missing here? The thing is, I’m totally calm. I’m not worried or stressed or nervous. I love getting lots of presents and being the center …

Back to our Roots
Going Back to our Roots Although the mountains of Colorado are now home to both Chelsea and myself, we always love to go back to our roots… We both spent our summers in the Northeast. Hence, we are justifying our “non-colorado” post today! When I stumbled upon Maine Root at Roxy’s Market in Aspen a few weeks ago, I thought I had been momentarily transported back to my old summer stomping grounds. I am obsessed with these insanely amazing ginger/root/sassafras/blueberry beers and sodas. Not only are they great to stock any fridge but they would be an amazing mixer or non-alcoholic drink …

E-Session Fun!
Who would’ve thought! Jeff and I had an e-session (engagement session) on Monday. It was SO much fun. I had hours of time hanging out with my sweetie in the one of the most beautiful places in America! Robin, our AMAZING photographer, made us both completely at ease. Believe you me, this is quite a feat as Jeff typically doesn’t love cameras directed at him for hours on end. Express Yourself made us the most INSANE props (don’t worry, you’ll see them soon). And I looked oh, so beautiful thanks to Christine at Full Circle. For those of you considering …

Compost this!
Time to Work on the Compost Pile! One of the main missions of Bluebird Productions is to make every event as eco-friendly as possible. We work with our clients to minimize the impact of their event on Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. While some clients are excited about this, others are not as interested. It is our job to make sure we can be as green as possible without taking ANYTHING away from their event. We met with a September bride a few days ago. Her wedding is at a private ranch near her home. We are fortunate enough to …
